Multi-objective problems

Optimisation of engineering materials, processes and devices is frequently subjected to different demands and limitations, which can even be conflicting. C3M is developing efficient optimisation algorithms for multi-objective and multi-constraint problems.
A simple example can be taken from cold forming technology where increasing press stiffness has beneficial effect on precision of product and at the same time detrimental effect of service life of tools. Thus, we have to seek for an optimal compromise.
